Why was I charged during the Free Trial ?

At Outfy, we offer a 7-day free trial so you can explore premium features without any upfront cost. However, there are instances when users mistakenly get charged during what they believe is a free trial period.

This guide explains why that might happen, and how to ensure you properly activate your free trial.


Common Reason #

Subscribed to a Paid Plan Instead of Starting the Free Trial

Sometimes, users accidentally click the wrong button and directly subscribe to a paid plan rather than initiating the free trial. As a result, the system immediately processes a payment.


How to Properly Start the Free Trial #

When choosing a plan, it’s important to follow these steps to activate the trial correctly:

Look for the Green link of “7-Day Free Trial” Button

  • On the Pricing page, each eligible plan will have a green button labeled “Start 7-Day Free Trial.”
  • This indicates that you’re enrolling in a trial—not making an immediate payment.

Click ONLY the Green Trial Button

  • Avoid clicking the regular “Subscribe” or “Upgrade” button unless you’re ready to be charged.
  • Clicking the “Start 7-Day Free Trial” ensures:
    • You won’t be charged right away.
    • Your 7-day trial period starts correctly.
    • You have full access to premium features during the trial.

How to Avoid Being Charged After the Trial #

  • If you decide not to continue with the paid plan after the trial:
    • Cancel the subscription before the trial period ends (within 7 days).
    • You can cancel from the Subscription History section of your dashboard.

Note: If the trial is not canceled before it ends, the system will automatically charge you based on the plan you selected.


What to Do If You Were Charged by Mistake #

If you believe you were charged incorrectly and meant to start a free trial:

  • Contact our support team at hello@outfy.com as soon as possible.
  • Share the date of the charge and the email address linked to your Outfy account.
  • Our team will review your request and assist you accordingly.

Always double-check the button you’re clicking during plan selection. The free trial button is always green and clearly marked with “7-Day Free Trial.”
